Homemade Beans On Toast Video

Video update today.

I have made a video of an old recipe from here, but one of my favourites, my version of the British classic “Beans on Toast”.

Loved by Brits, mocked by others! Give this recipe a try and I can guarantee you will start loving beans on toast!

This is also the first time I have put my voice to a video too, you unlucky gits!

  1. This provided so much amusement on so many levels 😄 The idea that Brits would go to these lengths for their beans-on-toast fix is so funny! I hate the typical British version of beans on toast : recipe = take can opener, open can of Heinz beans, heat, toast white sliced bread. Eat. Yours looks wonderful (apart from the chilli, I’m a wimp!) I was going to say my hb wouldn’t go near yours but he shocked me by asking what I was laughing at as I watched the video and asked me to send him the link, so result! 😄 But I was also grinning at your accent, south England with Aussie twang. Great video, great recipe, you may just have changed a certain person’s beans-on-toast addiction 😉 Ps he loves sourdough, makes his own wholemeal bread and is dying to make sourdough from scratch but lacking in confidence.

    1. GREAT comment. Thanks so much. I am glad to hear you found it funny. Haha. It took a few attempts but loosened up towards the end! And yep, my accent changes all over the place. Sometimes I sound Kent, sometimes mockney and then I find myself saying things with an Aussie twang. I used to try and correct myself but I am learning to just go with what I am! I really hope your husband enjoys the beans!

      1. He is really fired up by this recipe, this is a man who likes everything plain and simple, so this is a departure for him. I’ll let you know how it goes, he wants to have all the right ingredients.
Ps I lived in Scotland during my teenage years and found that my Lancashire accent became more pronounced but I would adopt local phrases. It must have sounded very odd!

I promise you, you will never look at a can of baked beans in the same light again after you watch this great video of homemade beans on toast – not a can opener in sight, not even tinned tomatoes! It’s spicy and colourful and will definitely tempt your tastebuds. By the way, it’s vegan but not gluten-free though you can make your own substitutions.
